Red

While sorting through some papers, I finally located a group of collages from an Abstract Painting class from Metairie Park Country Day's "The Colony." This is one of eight collages I made under the instruction by Karen Stasny.

Convention Center

At a National Art Education Association Convention in Boston in 2004, I attended an “Ice Cream Party” sponsored by Stafford. Around the room there were tables designated for using Stafford products to create art projects. Below is what I made using Nu Pastels on top of map images and an illustration of the convention center. I had not used Nu Pastels with water before.

Collage Presentation

At tonight’s Jefferson Art Guild meeting I gave a presentation on my collage work from the last ten years. I brought my collage sketchbooks, three finished works and my how-to books to share with my fellow artists. While I talked I passed around the books. Many of the artists told me how much they enjoyed seeing my work and looking at the how-to books.

Self Portrait

When I took Freehand III at Mississippi State, this was an exercise I did in my sketchbook. We were asked to draw a self portrait and overlay another drawing on top. The art professor had us glue in different areas and then tear away pieces.

News Collage

Almost thirty years ago I made this collage from some news magazines. It includes many images from the late 70s.
